Purpose

As former migrant workers, the Lopez family understands firsthand the barriers many families face in pursuing stability and opportunity. Having worked in the fields from a young age, they developed a deep respect for hard work, perseverance, and personal responsibility. Education and financial stewardship played a transformative role in helping them break cycles of poverty and build a foundation for long-term success.

Guided by these values, our charitable giving prioritizes initiatives that empower individuals and families through education, financial literacy, cultural heritage, and community health. We are committed to supporting programs that create sustainable impact, strengthen communities, and expand opportunities for future generations.

While we would like to support every request, resources are limited. To ensure fairness, transparency, and responsible stewardship, we maintain an annual charitable giving budget and established evaluation guidelines. This policy outlines our criteria and review process.

Salsa El Gallo and Las Delicias Distributors reserve the right to amend, suspend, or discontinue this policy at any time without prior notice. Submission of a donation request does not guarantee funding and does not create any obligation, partnership, or binding commitment of any kind.

1. Eligibility and Priority Funding Areas

We consider donation requests from registered nonprofit organizations, community groups, schools, ministries, and other charitable entities whose missions align with our core values and priority focus areas.

Priority consideration will be given to initiatives that support:

  1. Education & Youth Development
Programs that expand access to education, scholarships, literacy initiatives, mentorship, vocational training, and academic enrichment.
  2. Financial Stewardship & Economic Empowerment
Workshops, seminars, and programs that promote financial literacy, budgeting, entrepreneurship, and responsible money management.
  3. Cultural & Heritage Initiatives
Events and programs that celebrate cultural identity, preserve heritage, and strengthen community connections.

We reserve sole discretion in determining whether a request aligns with these priorities.

Ineligible Requests

The following requests are not eligible for funding:

  • Personal financial assistance to individuals
  • Individual sponsorships (including travel expenses, participation fees, sports teams, band trips, class trips, or similar activities)
  • Athletic team sponsorships or sports-related fundraising activities
  • Donations or sponsorships to for-profit businesses or commercial enterprises

2. Application Process

All donation requests must be submitted in writing via email to the SEG Community Liaison at outreach@salsaelgallo.com, with a copy to lasdeliciasdistributors@gmail.com.

Requests must include:

  • Organization name and description
  • Primary contact name and contact information
  • Clear description of the purpose and intended use of funds
  • Amount or type of support requested
  • Supporting documentation (if applicable), such as a 501(c)(3) determination letter
  • Website and/or social media pages, if available

Incomplete applications, missing documentation, or failure to follow submission instructions may result in the request not being reviewed.

Due to the volume of inquiries, we are unable to respond to phone calls regarding application status.

3. Review Process

Requests are reviewed on a monthly basis. Each submission is evaluated based on:

  • Eligibility under this policy
  • Alignment with stated funding priorities
  • Potential for measurable and sustainable community impact
  • Availability of funds within the annual charitable giving budget
  • Note on Recurring Support: To ensure we can support as many diverse community causes as possible, approval of a request in one year does not guarantee future funding. This allows us to remain fair and provide opportunities to a wider range of organizations each year.

We reserve the right to request additional information during the review process.

4. Decision, Disbursement, Recognition & Brand Use

Funding decisions are communicated via email. All decisions are final. We reserve the right to approve or decline any request at our sole discretion and are not obligated to provide an explanation.

If approved, donation distribution and sponsorship details will be coordinated directly with the requesting organization according to an agreed-upon timeline.

We kindly ask that sponsored organizations acknowledge our support on social media, printed materials, or event signage when appropriate.

Any use of company names, logos, trademarks, or brand assets must receive prior written approval. We are available to provide approved logos and collaborate on messaging to ensure brand consistency.

5. Follow-Up & Impact Reporting

We may request a brief written summary, photos, or an impact update describing how the donation was used and the outcomes achieved. This information may be used for internal evaluation or external communications.

Failure to provide requested follow-up information may impact eligibility for future funding.

6. Frequency of Requests

Organizations may receive funding no more than once every two (2) calendar years. This allows us to support a broader range of initiatives while managing resources responsibly.

Exceptions may be considered under extraordinary circumstances at the sole discretion of Las Delicias Distributors, LLC.

7. Conflict of Interest

Requests from organizations with direct personal affiliations to company owners, employees, or their immediate family members will be subject to additional review to ensure fairness and objectivity.

Individuals involved in the evaluation process may recuse themselves from reviewing or making decisions on requests where a potential conflict of interest exists.
